English Language Arts

Philosophy:

The Elizabeth Forward School District’s Elementary English Language Arts Team teaches reading, writing, listening, and speaking using the Science of Reading. Our goal is to help all students build strong skills they can use in school and in life. Students learn by working together, sharing ideas, thinking carefully, and being creative. In the early grades, they start practicing the basic skills that good readers and writers need. As they move into middle and high school, they continue to use research-based reading and English lessons that help them grow even stronger. This prepares them to be confident learners and clear communicators in today’s digital world.
